We teamed up with mom of four, James Kicinski-McCoy, of the blog Bleubird, to give us a peek into her Mother's Day traditions and talk about the joys of motherhood. We love following James and her family's adventures on her blog, a beautiful documentation of life through her lens as a "mother bird. clothing maker. picture taker. blogger. fun haver."
Read our Q&A with James below and learn about her family's Mother's Day tradition of gardening and planting. What are you doing to celebrate Mother's Day?
What does motherhood mean to you?
Motherhood to me means responsibility and practicing lots of patience. It is the ability to multitask, yet always involving my children and devoting my time to them, having fun and making sure they feel loved and important.
Mother's Day traditions?
Every year my sweet family comes in with my favorite breakfast in bed, eggs benedict, hand picked flowers and hand made and painted cards and gifts. I have kept every single one of them over the years. We then head over to the local nursery and pick up a bunch of new plants, flowers and potting soil and then pot new flowers and plants in the back yard and front porch. We usually BBQ for dinner and light a fire and roast marshmallows for s'mores. A perfect family filled day. Plus, my husband does all of the dishes and changes all the diapers. Not too shabby! ;)
Favorite thing to do with your kids?
My favorite thing to do with my kids is sit and talk about whatever is on their mind. I love to hear what they have to say and what's going on inside those brains of theirs. The innocent untainted mind of a child is enlightening.

Speak to your children as you would like to be spoken to.
James' Hunter Style:
My Hunter style is casual and classic. I love something that I can easily piece together. I like the versatility of a good pair of jeans, an old t-shirt or a woven top by ace&jig and the classic green Hunter boots.
